―Amber while she is flirting with Edward

Amber is a server at the Italian restaurant in the tourist trap of Port Angeles, Washington. She served Edward and Bella the night after Bella was attacked by several men and nearly raped while going back to her friends after trying to find a suitable bookstore. When Amber takes the order of Bella's mushroom ravioli and Coke, she seems to be paying more attention to Edward, showing that the unnaturally tall, blonde waitress is attracted to him. She is very warm and smiles alot, seemingly to attempt in impressing the bronze haired vampire. In Meyer's draft of Midnight Sun, Amber placed her phone number next to the bill.

[edit] Physical DescriptionEdit

In the book, Amber is described as a Caucasian girl in her teens with short black hair. Edward hardly noticed her, implying that she did not smell as enticing as Bella.

Vampires also don't want to attract attention to themselves and it is harder to stay inconspicuous when there are so many living together. However, there are several covens that do exist

The English word "dragon" derives from Greek δράκων (drákōn), "dragon, serpent of huge size, water-snake", which probably comes from the verb δρακεῖν (drakeîn) "to see clearly".

Dhampires

"Dhampire" redirects here. For the Vertigo graphic novel, see Dhampire: Stillborn.A Dhampir (also dhampyre, dhamphir or dhampyr) in Balkan folklore is the child of a vampire father and a human mother. In vampire fiction the term Dunpeal[1] is also used. Dhampirs often have powers similar to a vampire, but none of their weaknesses (though the reverse can occur, as well).[2] A dhampir is believed to be unusually adept at killing and detecting vampires.

As the concept became popular in fiction the idea of hybrid or half-vampires expanded. Thus, in the broadest sense, dhampirs can be understood as the children/offspring/clones/etc. of at least one vampire while at the same time, not a vampire themselves.

Navajo Nation[edit this page]Edit

From TWILIGHT SAGA REMIX WikiEdit

The Navajo Nation (Diné Bikéyah in the Navajo language) is a semi-autonomous Native American homeland covering about 26,000 square miles (67,339 square kilometres, 17 million acres), occupying all of northeastern Arizona, the southeastern portion of Utah, and northwestern New Mexico. It is the largest land area assigned primarily to a Native American jurisdiction within the United States.

The Nation encompasses the land, kinship, language, religion, and the right of its people to govern themselves. Members of the Nation are often known as Navajo but traditionally call themselves Diné (sometimes spelled in English as Dineh) which means "The People" in Navajo.

The 2000 census reported 298,215 Navajo people living throughout the United States, of which 173,987 (58.34%) were within the Navajo Nation boundaries. Of these, 131,166 lived in Arizona (17,512 in Maricopa County, which includes the city of Phoenix).

Because the Navajo Nation includes land in three states, its Division of Economic Development compiles census data for the Navajo Nation as a whole. Another group lives on the Colorado River Indian Tribes reservation along the Colorado River in California and Arizona.

Black Indians[edit this page]Edit

From TWILIGHT SAGA REMIX WikiEdit

Black Indians is a term that refers to people of African-American descent, usually with significant Native American ancestry, who also have strong ties to Native American culture, and social and historical traditions. This article addresses Black Indians in the United States.

Certain Native American tribes had close relations with African Americans, especially those in the Southeast, where slavery was prevalent. Members of the Five Civilized Tribes held enslaved blacks, who migrated with them to the West during Indian Removal in 1830 and later. In peace treaties with the US after the American Civil War, the tribes, which had sided with the Confederacy, were required to emancipate slaves and give them full citizenship rights in their nations. The Black Indians were known as tribal Freedmen of the five civilized tribes (Cherokee, Creek, Seminole, Choctaw, and Chickasaw Freedmen). In addition, some black maroon communities had been allied with the Seminole in Florida and intermarried. The Black Seminole included those with and without Indian ancestry. The Cherokee, Creek and Seminole have created controversy in recent decades as they tightened rules for membership in their nations and excluded Freedmen who did not have at least one Indian ancestor on the early 20th century Dawes Rolls. Lawsuits are pending.

―Rosalie Hale on Vera[src]

Vera was Rosalie Hale's best friend when Rosalie was mortal. When she was seventeen, she married a carpenter and had a son, Henry, a year later with him. Rosalie was jealous of Vera because, even though Rosalie was beautiful and adored by many, what she wanted most of all was to get married to someone who loved her and to start a family with him. Vera fulfilled all of Rosalie's dreams, and Rosalie became jealous after visiting her. When Rosalie first saw her mate, Emmett, who at the time was mortal and had recently been mauled by a bear, she said that she couldn't leave him there to die because of his resemblance to Vera's son Henry (dark curly hair and dimples). Vera was the one person who Rose was jealous of in her human life, as she was married and had a child with a man who truly and deeply loved her. Even being poor, she was happy.

Quileute tribe[edit this page]Edit

From Twilight Saga WikiEdit

(Redirected from Quileutes)The Quileute tribe are a Native American people currently numbering approximately 750.

The Quileute people settled onto the Quileute Indian Reservation after signing the Treaty of Quinault River of 1855 (later reauthorized as the treaty of Olympia in 1856) with the United States of America. The reservation is located near the southwest corner of Clallam County, Washington at the mouth of the Quillayute River on the Pacific coast. The reservation's main population center is the community of La Push, Washington. The 2000 census reported an official resident population of 371 persons on the reservation, which has a land area of 4.061 km² (1.5678 sq mi, or 1,003.4 acres). They have their own government that consists of a Tribal council with staggered terms.

The Quileute tribe linguistically belongs to the Chimakuan family of languages among Northwest Coast indigenous peoples. The Quileute language is one of a kind, as the only related aboriginal people to the Quileute, the Chemakum, were wiped out by Chief Seattle and the Suquamish people during the 1860s. The Quileute language is one of only five known languages to not have any nasal sounds (m, n).

Like many Northwest Coast natives, in pre-Colonial times the Quileute relied on fishing from local rivers and the Pacific Ocean for food and built plank houses (longhouses) to protect themselves from the harsh, wet winters west of the Cascade Mountains. The Quileutes, along with the Makah people, were once great whalers.
